Notes
(points of interest etc.) |
One of the
first of the Colleys to leave Prospect was James
Colley’s daughter, Elizabeth, though she did not go far at first. In 1849 she
married William Davis, a barber, in Trinity Church, Adelaide in 1849, witnessed by David Ball. The couple settled
in Bowden, very close to Prospect Village. They went on to have two children,
Rosalia in 1850 and Henry Allan Davis in 1853. Elizabeth stayed in Adelaide
after the rest of her family went to Victoria in 1858 but in July 1860, William
died. She later moved to Victoria and married George Kenn, a naval officer
who later became a pilot at Williamstown. She died in 1904, in Williamstown. |
