(points of interest etc.) |
He was
a friend of fellow artist Steve Wickes who lived on Prospect Road and gave
inscribed copies of his books of verse to Steve and his wife. Steve’s young daughter “Bobbie” had an
autograph book and Mather added small paintings, an etching and poem in the
autograph book. He was
reportedly proud of his acquaintance with poet Adam Lindsay Gordon. He is
not related to John Mather the Scottish born Victoria artist. |
